I started with a A2 panel of Not Your Mama’s Card Stock<\/a><\/strong>. I love this cardstock for ink blending because its so smooth and gives great results. I grabbed my coordinating blending brush and went to town ink blending the ocean color, making a heavier concentration in the middle and sweeping up to the upper right and bottom left corner. When I had it just the way I wanted, I set it aside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Next, I grabbed the florals from the Brutus Monroe – Miss You Florals (Stamp Club +)<\/strong><\/a> and inked them up using Brutus Monroe Raven Ink<\/a><\/strong>. I stamped them on Neenah Classic Crest 80 lb card stock<\/a><\/strong> and then heat set the ink to dry. Once I had them heat set, I went to town coloring! I kept it very simple, using the 4 colors (Red, Green, Orange, and Yellow) aqua pigments. I used the different colors to create darker colors and water to lighten them. These are a really fun medium! When I had them all colored, and they were dry, I cut them out using the matching die set.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I knew I wanted to layer the florals, so I used various sizes of stamping foams to create depth and dimension. I also knew I wanted a white border, so I cut the card down to 5 x 3.75 inches. The included sentiment is pretty tiny, and after stamping it right to the background, it was getting a little lost. So I grabbed a small tag die and used that to ensure the sentiment was seen. Before I adhered it, I used Distress Paint – Black Soot<\/strong><\/a> and went to town adding splatter. I really liked this medium because its just the right consistency to get fine splatter. I added the tag once dry and viola! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
