I had so much fun playing with the Simon Says Stamp February Card kit this past weekend. I was able to sit down and crank out 5 cards in two sittings! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What I love most about the SSS Card kits<\/a><\/strong> is having a coordinated goodie parcel all together to just assemble and go! And what else I love is that you can get most of the supplies by themselves if you sadly miss out on the kit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The feature set in this kit is the <\/a>Love You Beary Much stamp set which allows for creating a valentines must, the conversation heart candy! As well as this adorable little bear. While this kit doesn’t have any dies, SSS does have a coordinating die set<\/a><\/strong>. The LOVE in this set has me wanting to snatch it in my next order!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this card I took to coloring the adorable little bear with Caran d’Ache <\/a><\/strong>(this set is the 20 pencil one, I have the 78). After coloring him, I new I wanted to use the Hugs and Kisses stamp for him to hold, instead of the blank heart he was holding. So I did a little “surgery” and cut his little paws out to adhere to the top of the inked heart. I used SSS Hot Lips<\/a> <\/strong>to stamp the Hugs and Kisses heart and then adhered it on top of the blank heart the bear holds. I have been using my SSS Craft Glue<\/a> <\/strong>lately and so far I am enjoying it. I finished the card by taking the XOXO stamp and inking it up with Hero Arts Unicorn White Pigment ink<\/strong><\/a>. It has officially become my new favorite white ink! It stamped so solid compared to the one I was using before. I dusted half the XO’s with SSS Antique gold<\/a> <\/strong>embossing powder, popped the little bear up and added gold round sequins from the Sizzix lovestruck sequin<\/strong><\/a>s<\/strong><\/a> set. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next card, I knew I wanted to play around with patterned paper. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This card was simple and easy. I loved the peachy background on this paper so I took one of the included black notecards and adhered a piece of the Simple Stories Sweet Talk paper<\/a><\/strong>. Next I layered a piece of gold and white cardstock and glued it to the card a little wonky to add a playfulness to the style. I added the stamped image sentiment, punched a heart and covered it with Glossy Accents<\/strong><\/a>. Finished it up with some hand drawn stitching that is well, sorta straight! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I really wanted to try the Rina K Poppin Pink Neon Glitz<\/strong><\/a> that was included in the kit. It was so shiny! And what a perfect way to let is shine than to use the SSS Tumbling Hearts stencil<\/strong><\/a>. While I love the results, I believe my glitz was a little dried out. The lid was ajar when I found it in the kit, but I made it work. I’ll need to use the rest soon as it was quite the struggle to spread. After letting it dry, I grabbed this cute saying out of the Simple Stories Sweet Talk paper<\/strong><\/a> set. Backed it with a pool colored card stock (since the glitz had a hint of blue!) and used a decent amount of SSS Craft Glue<\/a> <\/strong>to get it al to adhere together. I ended up leaving it for a few hours under some heavy books to get it to stick long term. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this card, I had to ink blend! Using the SSS Tumbling Hearts stencil<\/a> <\/strong>again, I grabbed my distress oxide inks in 4 different pinky colors and went to work! I started with the lightest color of Spun Sugar<\/strong><\/a>, then went to Worn Lipstick<\/strong><\/a>, then Picked Raspberry<\/strong><\/a> and finished with Festive Berries<\/strong><\/a>. I use blending brushes to achieve this soft transition. I used stamps from the included Love You Beary Much to make some of the hearts look like convo hearts (using Hero Arts Unicorn White Pigment ink<\/strong><\/a>), and also used one of the bigger sentiments. Backed it on a beautiful raspberry color cardstock and viola! A beautiful one layer card. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

My time was running out in the craft room, but I really wanted to use this rainbow from the Simple Stories Sweet Talk paper<\/a><\/strong>. It had a vanilla colored background so I grabbed a coordinating cardstock color an went to town cutting it out. I added some foam to the back and popped it up. Then I stamped the LOVE stamp onto the included doll pink cardstock <\/a><\/strong> in the Hero Arts Unicorn White Pigment in<\/strong><\/a>k<\/strong><\/a> and then used the SSS Antique gold <\/a><\/strong>embossing powder again to have it look dipped. Popped up the bottom and dropped some jewels on to finish it off. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which card was your favorite? I cannot speak more highly of these card kits. I always enjoy when they show up because I know I’m going to spend more time crafting and less time wondering what to make!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
