3 cards one Kit – SSS

Categories –

Every now and then a card kit comes along that really inspires creativity. While the SSS kits are always great, some are better than others. And the January 2021 Card Kit was on FIRE. I really loved this kit and made many cards from it, but especially three really awesome snowflake cards.

I started with this gorgeous card. I loved the metallic paper that was included in the kit, along with the snowflake embossing folder. I started by embossing it in my Gemini machine. Next, I remember seeing a video where another crafter used Alcohol Inks on this shiny paper, so I figured what better time to try them for the first time! I had received some from a previous kit and was excited to use them. After playing and getting it just right, I let it dry while I die cut the snowflakes out of the included Eliza die cut from a piece of the Bokeh paper, as well as white cardstock. I also include a smaller die, Maryanne out of just white cardstock. I layered the large snow flakes and then glued them onto the card, as well as the smaller ones. I then kissed the snowflakes with a little liquid glue in a random manner and sprinkled the Unicorn Confetti onto them to give that snow effect. Finished it up with a sentiment from the included stamp set! I was so happy with how this card turned out from using Alcohol inks for the first time.

I moved onto this lovely bokeh paper for my next card. I kept it really simple, using the same dies as the card above and cut them out of Vellum so the beautiful paper could shine through. I attached them with some liquid glue. I then had some Stampin Up Snowflake confetti to give the feeling of a blizzard. Finished it with a Missing you Snow Much sentiment.

Have you ever had paper that made you go, oh hi there? This paper did. When I saw it, I knew I had to create with it! I also wanted to step out of my norm and try a different color palette. Years ago, I had made a snowflake card with this pool cardstock and when I saw these ones, I couldn’t get it out of my head! So I thought, why not!
