Background Die with Ink Blending – First VIDEO!

Categories – , , , ,

Hello Crafty Friends! Today is a big day! I officially joined jumped onto YouTube and this is the card I made for my first ever video. I have this beautiful ink blended background using Distress Oxide Inks and this lovely background die cut.

Here is a video tutorial as well as a supply list of items used on the card below.

I started with my favorite ink blending paper from Simon Says Stamp. It is incredibly smooth and my number 1 go too for ink blending. I blended the distress oxide colors from Wild Honey, to Crackling Campfire and then Seedless Preserves. I have a separate set of brushes that I use for my oxide inks vs. my die inks.

After I ink blending, I cut the Paper Rose die out of Neenah 80 LB card stock as well as the Tonic Nuvo Honey Matte Gold mirror card stock. This is my absolute favorite gold cardstock. It is so incredibly rich, especially with this more royal colored colors of oxide inks. Once I had them all glued together, I cut out the Just Because sentiment die out of some blackberry colored card stock and then did a “Dip” technique where I inked up the bottom half of the die with Versamark Ink and then sprinkled Gold embossing powder onto it. I wanted the Sentiment to pop some more so I backed it with a piece of Heavy Stock vellum.

Then I assembled the card, adding the background die to the ink blended panel and then trimming it down. Once it was trimmed down, I popped it up onto my card base and then added the sentiment and gold baubles to finish it off!
