Spellbinders – SDOM June 22

Hello Crafty Friends! I have a card for you today using the Spellbinders Stamp and Die of the Month for June!

Here is a list of supplies I used on this card…

I started by using some A2 panels of Tim Holtz Distress Water Color Card Stock. I like to use the smooth side when I am heat embossing to ensure that I have a crisp image. I stamped three of the pinwheel images and then covered them in Copper Embossing Powder and het set. Once I had them all set, I taped the panels to a hard board using some painters tape, making sure that I gave some space around each image for the die cutting.

When I had them taped down, I very carefully started sprinkling the Tonic Nuvo Shimmer Powders onto the panel in a random assortment. I grabbed my Distress Sprayer and began getting the panel wet. In order to keep the awesome colors that show up, I very carefully sprayed. I didn’t want to over spray the image as this gives it a more blended color. I really wanted to be sure that the colors stayed bright. Once I was happy with the colors, I set the panels aside to dry on their own.

I was able to return to my craft room to finish the card a few hours later. I removed the tape very carefully and then used the coordinating dies to cut the image out. I grabbed an olive green card stock from my stash and began building my mosaic design. I used double the foam tape for the medium images, and then just a single layer for the smaller ones, giving us the different dimensional heights. I heat embossed a sentiment in the same cooper embossing powder and then viola! That finished the card.
