SSS – Delicate Branch Die

Categories – , , ,

Hello crafty friends! Its been a minute since I have been on the blog, but I had some time to get some writing done. I have a card for you today using the a couple new dies from the DieCember release with Simon Says Stamp (SSS).

Here is a list of supplies I used for the card…

I started by cutting a A2 panel of 80 lb card stock. I then began cutting the Delicate Branch die out of the same card stock. I cut SO MANY! I think in the end I cut approx. 12 branches. When I was all done, I began gluing them on the panel. I made sure that they didn’t touch, but were evenly spaced so it looked continuous. When I was done layer the major branches, I put off the over hang and then used the bits and pieces to add a few more to fill in the holes.

I wanted to add some more dimension, so I began adding a second layer to most of the branches. Its hard to see in the card, but in person, its SO STUNNING to have that branch with two layers.

When I was happy with the branch on the panel, I set it aside to dry. I added a large acrylic block onto it to keep it flat. It was time to make the sentiment!

I started with an assortment of Hero Arts Card Stock. I had a card panel pack, but I was able to locate the colors on the SSS website. I used Pesto, Kiwi, and Palm for the green. I used the smallest die in my SSS Strips Die One pack and cut the strips out of each card stock color twice. I then used a piece of copy paper and my SSS Tape Runner and covered the piece of copy paper with tape glue. I then began laying the colors strips on in a repeating pattern until I have a piece big enough to create the shadow layer of the Just Because Die. I cut the shadow die out and set it aside. I then cut the actual sentiment out of my favorite black card stock, Hero Arts Pitch Black and SSS Gold Glitter Card Stock. I wanted to create a shadow on the gold letters to help pop it off that green background.

I glued everything together and then popped up the sentiment using foam tape and added some gold pearls. I really loved how this card came out and have more ideas using other greenery dies!
